What is sea moss?
Sea moss, also known as Irish moss, is a family of red algae with the scientific name Chondrus crispus. It’s been consumed by humans for thousands of years, found mainly on rocks along the North Atlantic Coast. Today, it’s also planted and processed in several coastal countries, including the U.S., China, Ireland and the Caribbean.

Does the product contain iodine?
Yes. Iodine is used to make the thyroid hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine, which assists with the creation of proteins and enzyme activity in the body. Iodine also helps regulate metabolism. If you are lacking iodine, your metabolism levels may slow leading the body to store food as fat, rather than burned as energy, leading to weight gain.
